The 26th ITRI International Conference (Online)
                                                                              January 21, 2027

Distinguished colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the Institute of Translation and Interpreting Studies (ITRI) at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies will host
its 26th International Conference virtually on Thursday, January 21, 2027.

This year, our conference will be held under the general theme: “Shifting Paradigms in the T&I Research Ecosystem”.

With the advent of the generative AI era, significant changes are taking place across the research ecosystem of translation and interpreting.
Research topics are expanding, and research methodologies are becoming increasingly diverse.

Now is the time for translation and interpreting scholars to take stock of these ongoing changes in the research ecosystem and
to explore how we can adapt to this evolving environment and help shape its development in a human-centered direction.

We are pleased and honored to welcome Professor Ralph Krüger of Cologne University of Applied Sciences as our Keynote Speaker this year.

Professor Krüger has been involved in numerous European translation and interpreting projects and
is particularly well known for his research on the AI literacy of translators and interpreters.

He also serves as an editor-in-chief and editorial board member of several prominent international journals.
His extensive editorial experience gives him a broad perspective on current developments in translation and interpreting research.

  • Keynote Speaker: Ralph Krüger (TH Köln)
  • Title: AI Literacy and Language AI Projects in Europe
