Distinguished colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the Institute of Translation and Interpreting Studies(ITRI) at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies will virtually host its 25th International Conference on Friday, January 23, 2026.

This year, our conference will be held under the general theme: “Human and AI Translation: Coexistence and Beyond.” 

We are pleased and honored to welcome Professor Adolfo M. García, an internationally renowned neuroscientist, as our Keynote Speaker this year.Having dedicated over a decade to researching the translator’s and interpreter’s brain, there is arguably no one better suited to provide an essential overview of this topic.

We also invite submissions addressing a wide range of topics related to human and machine translation and interpreting, including but not limited to:

·        The Evolving Roles and Status of Translators and Interpreters

·        Future Directions for Research on Translators and Interpreters

·        Translator and Interpreter Education and Training

·        Translation/Interpreting and Technology

Submitting a proposal

-      Individual proposals should be a minimum of 300 words.

-      Proposal(s)maybe submitted in English or Korean.

-      All proposals should be accompanied by short bios (approx. 100 words) of the presenters.

-      Please send all proposals via email to itri@hufs.ac.kr

Dates

-     December 7, 2025: Proposal submission deadline

-     December 9, 2025: Proposal acceptance notification

-     January 9, 2026: Paper submission(Microsoft Word or PowerPoint slides)
